Sri Lankan women’s captain Chamari Athapaththu recently stated that her time playing in the ongoing WCPL with the Barbados Royals is going to be very beneficial to her preparation for the Women’s T20 World Cup, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates on October 3.
According to her, the team as a whole had prepared incredibly well and had participated in a few bilateral series. Also, her time in the WCPL will only help her get ready for the World Cup, when she will face the best teams in the world. It’s interesting to note that Chamari also discussed how the team will benefit in the shortest format when it comes to adapting to new playing circumstances away from home.
“We’re well-prepared as a team and as individuals. Before I arrived here, we participated in a Women’s Asia Cup and a few bilateral series. Thus, these are excellent chances for us to demonstrate our abilities and our capacity for self-management, as well as our ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle pressure when playing in the T20 format, according to a News18 comment from Chamari.

It is noteworthy to remember that in the ladies’s Asia Cup final, Sri Lanka, headed by Chamari Athapaththu, defeated India’s ladies.
