With this victory, South Africa has gained six points (+0.603 NRR) and is now the first team to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 round, according to the standings of the participating teams in Group D. On the other hand, the Bengal Tigers have been left perplexed after missing out on what could have been an easy run chase, despite beginning the competition against Sri Lanka on a winning note.

Bangladesh (+0.075 NRR) must now defeat both Nepal and the Netherlands to guarantee they finish just behind South Africa in the standings and advance to the next round.
