Jasprit Bumrah, the captain of India, removed Usman Khawaja on the final ball of the opening day of the fifth and final Test match in Sydney, bringing the match to a thrilling conclusion. The bowler glared at Australia’s opener Sam Konstas as he took the wicket.
India came into the Sydney Test with a point to prove after falling behind 1-2 in the series. Rohit Sharma rested for the Test in the New Year, and Bumrah took over as captain. Thanks to a fantastic effort by Scott Boland, who took four wickets, India was bowled out for 185 at the start of the day. The lone noteworthy knock was Rishabh Pant’s 40. India needed a breakthrough to close out the day on a high note because Australia had started their innings under the lights.
The bowler was clearly agitated when Khawaja stopped Bumrah mid-run-up before the penultimate ball of the day’s last over.
A few moments later, Sam Konstas, 19, became involved in the altercation with Bumrah. The on-field umpire stepped in to defuse the situation as a result of the encounter.
KL Rahul completed the catch at second slip after he threw a fuller-length delivery on the last ball of the over that caught Khawaja’s bat by the outside edge. The Indian squad erupted in a raucous celebration, but Bumrah’s response caught everyone’s eye when the seasoned bowler turned to look at Konstas.

The right-armer’s nine-inning wicket total increased to 31 with this dismissal. Even though the tourists had a great day, they planned to carry that momentum into the next day.
