Harry Brook, a prominent batter for England, has been gaining a lot of notoriety. Following his valiant performance for England in the current series against the West Indies, the 25-year-old recently rose to third place in the ICC Test batter rankings. With the ace batter scoring a century at Trent Bridge and a half-century at Lord’s during the series, analogies have begun to emerge.
Even though many fans are drawing comparisons between him and legendary batters from the past, Brook maintains his extreme humility and keeps emphasising how crucial it is to accommodate other batters and incorporate them into his game.
“My goal is to improve myself. I aspire to be Harry Brook, above all others, but in today’s game, you have to incorporate different pieces of other batters into your own. There are a tonne of excellent players out there. Harry Brook was cited by as saying, “An example is Rooty playing the ball so late, or AB de Villiers hitting all over the ground, or Kevin Pietersen for his power.”
I have done some of that, but not a lot. I would be foolish not to utilise Rooty’s cricket expertise and pick up some tips from him, given he recently ranked seventh all-time in Test runs.
In addition, Brook declared that Test cricket is now his first priority. After playing in 14 Test matches for England so far, Brook has amassed 1376 runs at an average of 62.54 with five hundreds to his credit.

“I don’t want to look too far ahead; I want to play every Test match I can for England. There is a lot of Test cricket to be played before the Ashes, which is a long way off. My biggest goal is to not get ahead of myself and to remain in the present. Although I’ll talk to [Rob Key] and the head coaches, Test cricket is currently at the top of my priority list, Brook added.
