The third and final ODI between India and West Indies will take place at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Tuesday, August 1. Following the West Indies’ victory in the second ODI to tie the series at one apiece, both teams will be aiming for a win in the series finale.
Similar to the first ODI, India used a different lineup for the second game, resting both skipper Rohit Sharma and seasoned player Virat Kohli. Due to the superb bowling of Romario Shepherd and Gudakesh Motie, the hosts took advantage of India’s choice as the Hardik Pandya-led team was bowled out for a pitiful total of 181.
Shardul Thakur (3/42) put in a solid performance during the chase, but the hosts held their own. The West Indies were able to win the match in 36.4 overs because to the innings of captain Shai Hope (63* off 80) and youngster Keacy Carty (48* off 65). Since December 2019, the Men in Blue have suffered nine straight bilateral losses at the hands of the West Indies, who outperformed India by six wickets.
