Brad Hogg said of the India vs. Australia T20 World Cup 2024 final, “It’d absolutely love to happen.”

Australia easily defeated India in the Ahmedabad World Cup 2023 final to win the title, extending the frenzy surrounding their cricket rivalry. A few months prior, in June 2023, Australia had defeated India in the World Test Championship final held at the Oval. When Indians are reminded of the infamous World Cup 2003 final loss to the powerful Australians, the animosity becomes fierce.

Brad Hogg, a former Australian batter, has predicted an Indo-Aus final in the present T20 World Cup 2024 frenzy. Notably, Australia and India are regarded as the favourites to play in the semifinals of the competition after reaching the Super 8 rounds. Hogg thought both sides would be able to easily defeat opponents like Bangladesh and Afghanistan, which would set up the final match.

Australia and India play Afghanistan and Bangladesh in the Super 8s. It is expected that both sides will defeat Afghanistan and Bangladesh to advance to the semi-finals. Hopefully, that happens. It sets it up for a grand final between Australia and India, which is something I would really love to see happen, Hogg said in an interview with Star Sports.

Hogg went on to say that Australia has a better chance than India of making it past the Super 8 phases of the competition. at contrast to Australia, who was subjected to sluggish West Indies decks, he contended that India played their World Cup big matches at New York, which had seam action. Because both the semifinals and the championship game will take place in the West Indies, this is the basis for the claim.
