Alana King hammered her way to her first ODI fifty, as Australia reached 221/9 with a 21-run final over.
In Match 9 of the Women’s World Cup 2025, Australia Women defeated Pakistan Women by a total of 107 runs on Wednesday, October 8, at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Pakistan suffered their third consecutive defeat at the competition, while the Australians continued their winning streak.

Prior to the powerplay, Pakistan requested that they bat first, however opening batswomen Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield were removed in quick succession. She dropped for 15 off 64 to give Australia a huge victory that raised their spirits. With five points from this victory, Australia jumped to the top of the standings. Not unexpectedly, Mooney’s unique knock under tremendous duress earned her the Player of the Match award.
On October 12, they will now play the Indian squad in Visakhapatnam. However, on October 15, Pakistan will meet England at the R. Premadasa Stadium. A loss in the forthcoming match could eliminate Pakistan’s prospects of advancing to the global event’s knockout stages, therefore they cannot afford many setbacks.
