Beth Mooney believes that the Australian team will not be taking any team lightly and that no match at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 will be easy. Her 138-run explosion off just 75 balls and a few catches in the last ODI of the just-finished series versus India Women earned her the Player of the Match title. The knock was essential as the team captained by Alyssa Healy overcame the Women in Blue at home once more, maintaining the hosts’ hopes of defeating them in a series.
Beth Mooney also highlighted how many teams have been preparing for the major event for years and provided insight on how to perform flawlessly every time the team takes the pitch for a competition. With reference to the historic third ODI at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, where an incredible 781 runs were scored throughout the match, the left-handed attacking batter also made remarks about the run-scoring component of women’s cricket. Additionally, Mooney wished for women’s cricket to reach new heights.
“To be honest, every game will be quite difficult. In international cricket, there are no longer any easy games. Many teams have been preparing for this World Cup for the past three or four years. We no longer take any teams lightly, in my opinion and that of the rest of the team. According to the ICC, Beth Mooney said, “It’s a tough world out there in international cricket, and you’ve got to get it right when you show up.”
I don’t sure if I have the endurance to play seven or eight games like that, so I’m hoping there aren’t too many flat wickets at the World Cup (laughing). However, it does demonstrate what is currently achievable in the women’s game with the correct pace and attitude. For where the game is at, I believe it’s a very amazing show.
And hopefully, where the game will go in the future,” Beth Mooney continued.
Australia Women won the series by a score of 1-2 after defeating the Indians by 43 runs. On October 1, they will play New Zealand at Indore’s Holkar Cricket Stadium to begin their campaign at the eagerly awaited Women’s World Cup.
