NZ vs ENG 2024: Ben Stokes walks of field in 3rd Test due to hamstrings injury

Due to hamstring issues, England captain Ben Stokes was forced to leave the pitch in the 56th over of the second innings during the third Test match against New Zealand. The visitors are currently having a difficult time in the third Test in Hamilton, and the two-time world champion’s injury issues are not getting better.

Despite winning the first two Test matches in the New Zealand series, the England team may have defeated the host team, but the Kiwis will dominate the third Test in Hamilton. At the end of day three, England is currently down at 18-2 and has lost both of their openers. They must chase down a mark of 658.

With 640 runs needed to win following the conclusion of Day 2 of the last Test, this might lead to one of England’s largest run deficits in a Test match.

In addition to guiding the team effectively during the series, Ben Stokes was also putting on some outstanding performances.

Because he will be undergoing treatment and having his decision over whether or not to bat taken into consideration, England may be one batter short as a result of this incident in their attempt to draw the game and remain undefeated in the series.

As England Test captain, Stokes has enjoyed another respectable three-match series, amassing 158 runs at an average of 52.67 and taking seven wickets. With the bat and the ball, Stokes has shown himself to be one of the most dependable performers, so the England squad will be hoping that his injury issues are resolved quickly. After sustaining a knee injury the previous season, Stokes will be hopeful that this hamstring condition won’t lead to further issues in his career.
