Reports: BCCI wants players to put domestic competitions ahead of the IPL.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is not the top priority for experienced Indian players, according to reports from the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). Instead, players are advised to prioritize domestic tournaments like the Ranji Trophy.

A number of players, including prominent Indian batter Ishan Kishan, were reportedly training for the Indian Premier League rather than competing in the Ranji Trophy when the warning was issued.

“With the exception of those who are unfit and recovering at the NCA, all the players will be communicated to by the BCCI to play for their state team in the Ranji Trophy in the coming days, as long as they are not on national duty,” The Times of India cited a reliable source as declaring.

It was also emphasized that no player is immune from making contributions to the domestic circuit, and that the direction applied to a number of the well-known Indian team members.

Kishan is presently working out with the Pandya siblings.

Fascinatingly, Ishan Kishan is presently training in Baroda with his brother Krunal Pandya and Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya. Following these revelations, it was stated unequivocally that competing in the Ranji Trophy for one’s country and state should take precedence over making early IPL preparations.

In order to avoid being picked to play for Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy, Kishan did not make himself accessible. A number of players noticed this, and former all-rounder Irfan Pathan also expressed his confusion over it. How the players respond to the notice from the BCCI remains to be seen, based on accounts of it.

The Indian Premier League, or IPL, is approaching its 17th season, which is scheduled to start in the summer of 2024. The players should have been concentrating on their national responsibilities and the Ranji Trophy, but instead they were jumping into IPL gear in January, which irked the BCCI.
