Stephen Fleming, a former captain of New Zealand, is set to become the head coach of the Indian men’s team, according to the BCCI.
At the end of the next ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, Rahul Dravid, the current coach, will step down. The team will have the new coach lead it for three and a half years, ending on December 31, 2027.
In the coaching world, the coach of the Chennai Super Kings has become a household name. Five Indian Premier League titles have been successfully navigated by the team under his leadership. In addition, with 16 years under his belt, he is the IPL franchise’s longest-serving coach. The 51-year-old could be the ideal choice for the prominent position with the Indian cricket team, having worked closely with the players during his coaching tenure.

– The Coach will be in charge of building a world-class cricket team that achieves consistent success in all weather conditions and game formats, motivating present and upcoming generations of players and spectators with their style of play.
– In all three game formats, the Head Coach will be ultimately in charge of the management and performance of the India Men’s squad.
– The Head Coach will be in charge of overseeing the performance, duties, and continuous growth of a group of specialised coaches and support personnel.
It is unlikely that David will reapply to be a coach.

The projection for Rahul Dravid’s coaching term was to the end of the 2023 World Cup. However, the veteran’s assignment was increased to a further five months. He can reapply for the position, but his chances don’t seem good. Another name that is being fervently promoted is that of VVS Laxman, a former batter for India. For a brief period during Rahul Dravid’s hiatus, Laxman led the Indian squad as head coach. In the Indian squad that won gold at the 2023 Asian Games, he also served as coach.
