BCB unsure about Bangladesh's upcoming tour to Pakistan

The men’s national squad will travel to the United Arab Emirates for the two-match Twenty20 International series, the BCB announced on Saturday, May 10. However, they have not yet made a decision about their five-T20I tour of Pakistan.

Bangladesh will play the United Arab Emirates in two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in May, according to an earlier announcement by the Emirates Cricket Board. At 7:00 p.m. local time on May 17 and 19, the games will take place. The dates of the five Twenty20 Internationals against Pakistan were set for May 25–June 3.

After the series, Bangladesh was supposed to visit Pakistan. The BCB said, however, that they had postponed the decision in light of the border tensions between India and Pakistan, which caused the PSL and IPL to be postponed.

On Saturday, the BCB directors convened at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium to decide on their next move.

“As planned, the Bangladesh National Team will go to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a two-match T20 International series against the host country as part of its ongoing dedication to international engagement and preparation. According to a statement from BCB, the series will start next week.

Regarding the upcoming visit of Pakistan by the Bangladesh National Team, the BCB and PCB are now engaged in active and continuous discussions.

“The BCB would like to restate that the Board’s first priority continues to be the players’ and support staff’s safety and security. All tour-related choices will be carefully evaluated in light of the present circumstances in Pakistan to make sure they serve the team’s and Bangladesh cricket’s best interests,” the statement continued.
