Officials from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) claimed they had asked the government to provide them with a security consultant for their upcoming tour of Pakistan.
Later this month, Bangladesh is scheduled to travel to Pakistan and play two Test matches against Shan Masood and company. The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi will host the first Test on August 21. In the meantime, the second Test gets underway at Karachi’s National Stadium on August 30. The current World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–2025 cycle includes these two matches.
International visitors to the cricket-mad country have expressed concern over Pakistan’s political climate.
“Look, Pakistan is responsible for ensuring our safety. We travel there because they guarantee state-level security, and the tour was scheduled after they gave us this assurance. You may have noticed from the Asia Cup that the Bangladeshi squad visited Pakistan, where they assured us of state-level protection, and we decided to go on this tour as a result.
The BCB Cricket Operation Chairman Jalal Yunus told reporters on Wednesday, “As you may have noticed, some international teams have recently visited [Pakistan] and they are quite happy with the security they provided.”
“We have scheduled the tour despite our deep concerns about security, which we have acknowledged after learning all the details and receiving their assurances. Simultaneously, we have asked the government to provide us with a security consultant for the tour who would stay in constant contact with them about any security-related matters,” he continued.
Jalal went on to say that no Bangladeshi player has any concerns about the team’s impending tour of Pakistan. The Bangladesh A team will go to Islamabad in advance of the previously mentioned tour to play three 50-over matches and two four-day games.

Since they are not scheduled to play any warm-up matches prior to the Test after arriving in Pakistan on August 17, the tourists saw it as part of their preparation for the Test series and selected experienced players like Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim along with many other Test cricketers in the side for the first four-day match.
