The Canada Super 60 is pleased to announce that the storied BC Place will serve as the official location for the inaugural men’s and women’s events, marking a major milestone for cricket in North America.
With this news, the Canada Super 60 reaches a significant milestone by obtaining a launchpad at one of the nation’s most renowned and cutting-edge venues. More than just a stadium, BC Place in the centre of downtown Vancouver is a representation of Canada’s athletic legacy and the site of some of the biggest international events, such as the forthcoming FIFA World Cup 26.
The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver, and ten Grey Cup Championships are just a few of the international athletic events that BC Place has hosted over the last forty years. Being the first indoor venue in the world to host a 10-over-a-side cricket event, BC Place will now be converted into an all-weather cricket stadium thanks to its retractable roof, high-rate infrastructure, and multi-sport adaptability.
According to Yuvraj Singh, a world-renowned cricket player and Canada Super 60 strategic partner, “BC Place is more than just a stadium; it’s a theatre of dreams.” “The majesty of the place where you play inspires you much as a sportsperson, and for our players, both men and women, there is no better place to begin this adventure. Cricket on the West Coast is expected to attract a whole new fan base in Vancouver, a city that lives on nature, variety, and culture.
With the goal of redefining competitive cricket in Canada and setting the standard for the sport’s expansion in North America, the Canada Super 60 is the first global-format cricket league to offer both men’s and women’s 10-over-a-side competitions from its inception.
“We are immensely proud to present BC Place to the cricket community,” stated Amjad Bajwa, President of Cricket Canada. Our sincere congratulations go out to the Super 60 crew for making this happen. This collaboration demonstrates our dedication to growing cricket nationwide and giving Canadian players access to top-tier opportunities, particularly as we prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026.
“We can’t wait to welcome cricket to BC Place,” said Chris May, the venue’s general manager.
“Having the Canada Super 60 in our lovely city is a fantastic chance to highlight the second-most-watched sport in the world. We are constantly searching for fresh and exciting events that showcase the diversity of our province because we are a multi-sport and multi-purpose facility. This is a significant step in building a more representative and inclusive sports environment in British Columbia.
The Canada Super 60’s official tournament dates and ticketing details will be revealed soon. The event promises not only exciting matches but also a culturally and athletically transformative experience in Vancouver, as cricket is one of the fastest-growing sports in North America.
