But the Thunder’s bowling all-rounder, Daniel Sams, is not playing. He had a side strain during the game when he was concussed.
The Sydney Thunder and the Hobart Hurricanes, who are presently ranked first and second in the Big Bash league 2024–25, respectively, have both sustained injuries. Billy Stanlake, a vital pacer for the Hurricanes, will miss the remainder of the BBL season playing for the team because of a broken shoulder.
Sam had to adhere to a 12-day concussion protocol after he collided with teammate Cameron Bancroft during fielding and sustained a concussion. However, he suffered from side soreness during the same game.
“I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me while I’ve been recovering.
Daniel Sams said, “The supportive and considerate messages have been a huge help to me during this time.”
“I sincerely apologize for being unable to join the boys on the field as they strive for the title and support their success. But he concluded, “I’m really proud of this group and am looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish for the remainder of the season.”
The injury dispute involving the Hurricanes is currently pending.
Stanlake, on the other hand, injured his right shoulder when diving for a catch during the Hurricanes’ third over against the Melbourne Renegades. He struck his bowling shoulder even though he completed the catch. Despite this, he tried to bowl his second over and was forced to avoid due of severe agony.
After scans revealed that he had fractured his right scapula, he was not allowed to participate in the rest of the BBL. The Hurricanes are already dealing with the injuries sustained by Ben McDermott and Lain Carlisle during the competition.
