Bangladesh will visit Pakistan earlier despite civil instability

In order to be ready for the forthcoming two-match Test series that begins in Rawalpindi on August 21, the national cricket team of Bangladesh will now depart for Pakistan on August 12, five days earlier than originally scheduled.

Due to current civil turmoil in Bangladesh, previously claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) offered to host Bangladesh for an extended length of time, providing all essential training facilities in Rawalpindi.

However, because of travel limitations enforced by their individual embassies owing to the political unrest in the nation, Bangladesh’s foreign coaching staff has chosen not to participate in the practice sessions.

Head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, assistant coach Nic Pothas, spin consultant Mushtaq Ahmed, batting coach David Hemp, strength and conditioning coach Nathan Kelly, and bowling coach Andre Adams are among the foreign coaches on the team.

“Given their travel constraints, we are unable to make the international coaching staff attend practice sessions. It is really concerning that a number of the city’s police stations are still closed, a BCB representative told. “We are working on getting the team to Pakistan earlier.”

It is also reported that, should they be chosen for the Test team, which is anticipated to be revealed on August 11, Shakib al Hasan and Shoriful Islam—who are presently in Canada for the Global T20 League—will fly directly to Pakistan.
