Despite the country's dangerous situation, Bangladesh will host South Africa for two Test matches

Bangladesh has been slowly returning to normalcy after a political upheaval. The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 was moved from the nation to the United Arab Emirates due to unending rioting. The upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa is expected to take place in Dhaka and Chattogram, respectively, suggesting that things are starting to look up for the nation’s cricketing ambitions.

The current ICC World Test Championship cycle includes the Test series. Cricket South Africa (CSA) will confer with the South African Cricketers Association (SACA) on players visiting Bangladesh before making a final decision. Given that South Africa has not released any travel advisories discouraging visitors from entering Bangladesh, the series is all but guaranteed.

On October 16, South Africa will arrive in Bangladesh

Furthermore, the potential security problems have been eliminated from consideration. According, BCB revealed the itinerary, and the Proteas would arrive in Bangladesh on October 16. On October 21, Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium will host the first Test match. On October 29, the second Test is slated to take place at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. November 3 is when the tourists’ return flight is expected to depart.

“We are hopeful that the tour will commence as per schedule and we will officially announce it in the coming days,” an official with the BCB stated.

Bangladesh recently defeated Pakistan by a score of 2-0 in a convincing series victory. For their nearly four-week visit, the Bangla Tigers have arrived in India for the next two Tests and three Twenty20 Internationals. On September 19, the first Test will get off at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
