Bangladesh vs. Afghanistan, third match of the ODI World Cup 2023, weather forecast and pitch report for HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala

In the third game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Afghanistan (AFG) and Bangladesh (BAN) are prepared to engage in an electrifying confrontation. Fans are anxiously expecting this match as the cricket spectacular gets underway, especially after a one-sided matchup between the finalists from the previous edition, England and New Zealand, in the opening game.

Fans have expressed worries over the Himalayan backdrop of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, despite the fact that rain has spoiled several of the warm-up matches. On the plus side, there won’t be any rain on Friday, October 7, when these two squads are scheduled to face off. The match is set to start at 10:30 AM IST, and no rain is predicted for the day.

In contrast to the rain-cancelled warm-up games, Dharamsala is expecting a beautiful day with a high of 30°C during the day and a gradual drop to 22°C in the evening.

While dew can influence the course of a cricket match, Afghanistan and Bangladesh need not fret since this day match is scheduled to end at 6 PM local time.

Given its recent history, Dharamsala can be described as a bowlers’ paradise.

There are nine pitches at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, but only three would be used for 2017 World Cup, according to reports. The black soil pitches in particular have received significant appreciation, especially from bowlers. Fast bowlers benefit from the constant bounce of the black soil surfaces in the early innings.

The most recent One Day International (ODI) to be played at this location, which was in 2020, was a washout. However, Sri Lanka was able to knock out India for just 112 runs in the previous ODI played here, with speed bowlers taking the most of the wickets. Intriguingly, teams chasing have triumphed more often than teams setting targets in the four ODIs played at this location.
