The Bangladeshi test team will reach Pakistan four days early

Four days ahead of schedule, on August 13, the senior men’s team from Bangladesh is expected to land in Lahore for a two-Test series. Before the first Test in Rawalpindi begins on August 21, the team will train for three days apiece at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The players’ preparations had been hampered by Bangladesh’s ongoing political instability. Due to security concerns, the team’s international coaching staff was unable to accompany the players to the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka last week. For security clearances, BCB is presently following up with the coaches’ individual embassies.

Following an invitation from the PCB to the BCB to guarantee the visiting players had “adequate and fair training opportunities” prior to the Tests, the players departed ahead of schedule.

Salman Naseer, the chief operations officer of PCB, stated in a statement that “sports are not just about winning and losing, they’re also about [camaraderie].” “I remain confident that the extra training sessions in Lahore will allow the players to showcase their best skills and talent on the global stage.”

Coach Shohel Islam has been working with the Bangladeshi players one-on-one at the Shere Bangla for the past three days.

BCB Chief Executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury stated in a statement, “We thank the PCB for giving the Bangladesh cricket team the opportunity to have additional training in Pakistan.” “This will certainly help the players to [acclimatise] to the conditions and prepare better for the ICC World Test Championship series.”

The anti-government rallies that occurred around the nation last month caused disruptions to the training camp of Bangladesh’s Test cricket players, which was located in Chattogram. Additionally, political gatherings have taken place inside the Shere Bangla premises.

In the end, the BCB was able to send the Bangladesh A squad to Pakistan and the high-performance team to Australia. After a few days of delay, the latter left, and the crew arrived in Islamabad on Saturday. In addition to the senior team’s Test matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi, Bangladesh A will play two four-day and three one-day matches in Pakistan. On Sunday, the Bangladeshi team for the Test matches is anticipated to be revealed.
