This is IPL XI, not the Indian team, and Bangladesh is just an appetizer for them: Basit Ali

On October 6, India defeated Bangladesh in the maiden Twenty20 International at Gwalior with a commanding performance. Basit Ali, a former batter for Pakistan, talked about the amazing depth and talent of India.

In order to fill the vacuum left by legends like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja retiring from the game’s shortest format, India has looked to its IPL talent. Younger players now have more chances to excel in international cricket as a result.

“Indian dominance in cricket has changed the game.” Bangladesh is only the beginning (at least for them). This is not an Indian team; this is an IPL eleven. (Yashasvi) Jaiswal, (Shubman) Gill, (Axar Patel), (Shreyas) Iyer, and (Ravi) Bishnoi were absent; no one played. He was quoted by TOI as saying, “And still, they hammered them in just about eleven overs, finishing with a six from (Hardik) Pandya.”

Captain Suryakumar Yadav chose to bowl first after winning the toss. The choice paid off as Bangladesh was limited to only 127 runs by the Indian bowlers, who were headed by Arshdeep Singh (3/14) and Varun Chakravarthy (3/31). Mayank Yadav, making his debut, made an instant impression by bowling with tremendous velocity and taking his first wicket in an international match.

India responded by reaching the mark in just 11.5 overs, thanks to a stunning 39* off 16 from Hardik Pandya, which cemented the victory with seven wickets. Ali was amazed at how easily India controlled the game. He also mentioned the players from India’s playing eleven who were noticeably missing.

For Mayank Yadav, it was a dream debut: Basit Ali

Yadav’s debut was praised highly by Ali, who emphasized the pacer’s capacity to regularly bowl at a fast pace and intimidate opposing hitters.

“Mayank Yadav had a fantasy debut; there were two debuts. A maiden over that featured a delivery of 149.8 kmph was bowled. Only because he was still recovering from an injury could he not bowl at speeds above 150 kmph. He gave a fright. Batsmen were never at the front position. I hope this kid stays healthy enough to travel on the Australia tour. Four pacers: Mayank, (Mohammed) Shami, (Jasprit) Bumrah, and (Mohammed) Siraj. Allow them to prepare energetic pitches and discover),” Basit continued.

The former batter for Pakistan also drew comparisons between Bangladesh’s recent triumph over Pakistan in a Test series and their T20I performance.

“Is this the same Bangladeshi squad who defeated Pakistan 2-0 in the whitewash? You witnessed during the Test matches (with India). Even the rain could not help them after they lost the first match, which they lost in almost two days,” the 53-year-old said.
