Bangladesh dropped Jahanara Alam and Rumana Ahmed from their team for a home match against India.

Jahanara Alam and Rumana Ahmed, both of whom have played cricket for a long time, were not chosen for the Bangladesh women’s national team’s preliminary group for the home series against India next month. Salma Khatun, an all-rounder who was cut from the team before the last Sri Lanka match, has now been brought back. On Monday, June 26, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named the 20-person team.

Bangladesh and India will play three T20I and ODI matches against each other. On July 9, July 11, and July 13, all three T20I games will be played at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The three-match ODI series will also start at the same place on Sunday, July 16. The games on July 19 and July 22 will be the last two in the series. The ICC Women’s Championship will also include the ODI series.

After Jahanara’s poor performance in the last Sri Lanka series, the new selectors, Sazzad Ahmed Shipon and Sajal Chowdhury, chose to leave him off the team. Rumana, on the other hand, didn’t do much to stand out, so he was taken off the team for the last Sri Lanka game.

Alam has played in 52 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) for Bangladesh. He has taken 48 wickets, with an average of 30.39 and an economy of 4.26. She has also taken 57 wickets in 78 T20Is, with an average of 23.31 wickets per game. Rumana, on the other hand, has played in 50 ODIs, made 963 runs, and taken 50 wickets. The spin-bowling all-rounder has also played for her country in 84 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), where she has made 854 runs and taken 75 wickets.
