Bangar Picks Jitesh Over Samson

Bangar claims that Arshdeep will only be included in the starting lineup in the event that Jasprit Bumrah is unavailable. The former India all-rounder, however, supported Jitesh Sharma to take the wicketkeeping position because the Men in Blue have a potent middle order and the Baroda player is more suited to bat at number seven.

Arshdeep Singh and Sanju Samson may not be selected to participate in the first Twenty20 International against South Africa, which is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, according to former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar.

“Unfortunately, given the lineup that the Indian team has been using up to this point, there is no room for him (Arshdeep), and Suryakumar Yadav also stated that they won’t make many changes. But since Arshdeep also bowls like that, he will arrive right away if Jasprit Bumrah isn’t available,” the former India all-rounder stated in an interview on the Star Sports program “Follow the Blues.”

“Axar Patel is a good restricted option, and you have three bowlers who can take wickets in any format: Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah. Because the middle order is so strong and Jitesh Sharma can provide you with a nice batting option at No. 7 because he has batted a lot there, I haven’t offered Sanju Samson a spot in the team,” Bangar continued.

Bangar chose Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma to start the batting order, with Tilak Varma coming in at number three.

Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, who is back to full fitness, and captain Suryakumar Yadav will make up the middle order. Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy will be the team’s speciality spinners, while Jitesh and Axar Patel will be the finishers. Bumrah was selected by Bangar as his team’s only frontline pacer.
