Two of Pakistan’s most prominent cricket players, Babar Azam and Wasim Akram, will lead a roadshow at the storied Lord’s Cricket Ground, according to the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The occasion marks a significant turning point in PSL’s global involvement as the league searches for its next stage of growth in response to the increasing interest from ownership groups based in the UK.
The PSL will hold a roadshow at the Home of Cricket, according to a recent confirmation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The league’s size and commercial worth have increased since it began with just five franchises. The PCB is now putting the PSL in a position to draw in partners, investors, and a larger global audience as it tries to add two extra teams before the 2026 season.
The London roadshow’s elite lineup consists of renowned bowler Akram and ace batter Babar Azam.
In addition, commentator Ramiz Raja, speedster Haris Rauf, and opener Sahibzada Farhan will compete. The program will also include musician Ali Zafar, who has a strong connection to PSL.
The PSL invited fans to an exclusive evening at Lord’s with some of the biggest stars in Pakistani cricket by officially revealing the roster through a billboard on its social media platforms. The purpose of the event is to highlight PSL’s development over the last ten years, starting as a five-team league that was introduced in the United Arab Emirates.
“The HBL PSL has quickly developed into one of the most thrilling and financially successful T20 tournaments in the world. As the league gets ready to grow by adding two more teams, it has already drawn a lot of interest from possible ownership groups throughout the UK. This is evidence of the PSL’s growing international recognition and its close ties to cricket stakeholders in the UK, the board stated in a press release.
PSL will add two more teams.
PSL’s impending growth is a prominent topic of discussion during the roadshow. This will be the league’s first structural change in seven years, following the addition of Multan Sultans in 2018. The PSL will expand from six to eight franchises with the addition of two more teams.
