Watch: Babar Azam is close to an injury when a ball hit him during practice

Starting on August 21, Pakistan is scheduled to welcome Bangladesh for a two-match Test series. To claim the victory, both teams will want to give their best performances. As he prepares for the series, all eyes will be on Pakistan’s top batter, Babar Azam.

But as Babar Azam was practicing, a ball struck him in the groin. Babar can be seen in excruciating pain in the video, which has gone popular on social media.

In the video, Babar Azam was in the nets with Khurram Shahzad, and he failed to bowl the first out-swinger that he faced. But the second ball struck him squarely in the crotch area because the great hitter was unable to read it. Shahzad arrived to check on Babar, who appeared to be uncomfortable. To everyone’s relief, Babar resumed his workout after performing some stretches.

Bangladesh and Pakistan aim to gain victories for the WTC standings

In reference to the forthcoming series, Pakistan and Bangladesh will square off in their first Test match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with both teams keen to win. Both teams’ WTC standings could be significantly impacted by a victory.

With just one victory and three defeats in their four Test matches played, Bangladesh is now ranked ninth in the standings. The team, with 12 points, will look to win two Test matches and advance in the standings.
