Ayush Mhatre Named India’s U19 Asia Cup Captain

Vihaan Malhotra will serve as Ayush Mhatre‘s deputy throughout the eight-team event, while the young opening batsman has been selected as the team’s captain. The India U19 team has been selected by the Junior Cricket Committee for the forthcoming ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup, which will begin on December 12 in Dubai. Meanwhile, the team has also been led by standout additions like Vedant Trivedi and Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

Abhigyan Kundu will be the wicketkeeper’s main responsibility. Harvansh Singh has also been selected as a backup wicketkeeping option. Henil Patel, Naman Pushpak, and Khilan Patel are other well-known members of the team. Four players have been added by the selectors as cover in addition to the 15-member roster.

Ayush Mhatre (C), Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and Vihaan Malhotra (vc), Vedant Trivedi, Abhigyan Kundu (wk), Harvansh Singh (wk), Yuvraj Gohil, Kanishk Chouhan, Khilan A. Patel, Naman Pushpak, D. Deepesh, Henil Patel, Kishan Kumar Singh*, Udhav Mohan, Aaron George.

Note: Kishan Kumar Singh must receive fitness clearance before he may compete in the continental event. Rahul Kumar, Hemchudeshan J, B.K. Kishore, and Aditya Rawat were also chosen by the selection committee to be the four backup players in their initial team.

Group A: Qualifiers 1, 3, India, and Pakistan

Group B: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Qualifier 2

Schedule for the ACC Men’s U19 Asia Cup in 2025

India’s campaign will begin on Friday, December 12 at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai. A few days later, they will play Pakistan in a high-stakes match at the same location. The Seven’s facility will host their third and last group stage match on Tuesday. The summit match is scheduled for Sunday, December 21, while the two semi-finals will take place on Friday, December 19.
