Ayush Mhatre of Mumbai will captain the India U-19 team on their forthcoming multi-format trip of Australia. The start date of the series is set for September 21. India put on a great display during their visit of the United Kingdom, winning the five-game One-Day leg and drawing the two-match Youth Test series.
During the tour, Ayush Mhatre, who played for CSK in the IPL 2025, had unmemorable 50-over performances. Over the course of five innings, he managed just one double-digit score. But in the four-day matches, he found his rhythm and became the top run scorer with 340 runs in four innings.
The gifted 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who showed off his amazing power-hitting skills for the Rajasthan Royals during the previous IPL season, is also a member of the 17-man squad.
Ayush Mhatre recently led the youth team on a journey to England, where they participated in all game styles.
The Indian U-19 team will meet the Australians in five games. The Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane will host three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) on September 21, 24, and 26. Two four-day matches will follow the 50-over tournaments. The first one will begin on September 30 at the same location as the ODIs, and the second one will begin on October 7 in Mackay.
Four players are absent from the team selected for the most recent England tour: Mohammed Enaan, Maulyarajsinh Chavda, Pranav Raghavendra, and Yudhajit Guha, who was one of the standbys. Vedant Trivedi, Khilan Patel, Udhav Mohan, and Aman Chauhan are the players who will join the team.
Off-spinner Anmoljeet Singh and wicketkeeper-batter Harvansh Singh Pangalia are also on the squad. D Deepesh and Naman Pushpak kept their jobs. Guha is one of the standby players, along with Laxman, B K Kishore, Alankrith Rapole, and Arnav Bugga.
