At Carrara Oval in Queensland, Indian all-rounder Axar Patel put up an outstanding all-around display during Thursday, November 6, the fourth Twenty20 International match versus Australia. In his four-over performance, the left-handed hitter took two wickets for 20 runs and contributed with the ball while scoring an undefeated 21 runs off 11 balls. He was named Player of the Match in recognition of his efforts.
Axar Patel claimed that the pitch conditions required more concentration and work and were not ideal for him. He stated that his batting position did not really concern him and that he was still determined to give it his all whenever he had the chance.
Since I batted at number seven, I believe I had an opportunity to get to know the wicket. I talked to the batters, and they told me that the wicket was not coming on. The wicket was a little slower and bounced unexpectedly, so I simply retained my position and smashed. My favorite spot to bat is probably wherever the team needs me. I believe that the finest game for me is one in which I can make a difference for my team.
Axar Patel stated in the post-match presentation, “I don’t think that number 6 or 7 is my preferred position.”
He stated that he remained true to his bowling strategy throughout the game, constantly going for the middle stump. He clarified that he concentrated on pitching the ball a little fuller and keeping a wicket-to-wicket line to create opportunities for wicket-taking anytime he thought his lengths were not coming out as anticipated.
