'Slightly shocking' Avesh Khan omission prompts Aakash Chopra to question

The new change in the Indian team has caused criticism and uncertainty because pacer Avesh Khan was left out. Former Indian cricket player Aakash Chopra voiced his perplexity about the choice and inquired as to the rationale behind the sudden call. Avesh Khan was sidelined in the current five-match Test series against England, while Bengal pacer Akash Deep was called up for the first time as a representative of Test India.

Avesh Khan was unjustifiably left out, in Aakash Chopra’s opinion. The abrupt dismissal of Khan has drawn criticism despite his steady performances and obvious dedication.

Aakash Chopra stated, “Another story is that Akash Deep has come,” in his frank assessment on his YouTube site. As a result, because Avesh Khan was a member of this squad, the question is: Where did Avesh go? In Vizag, I witnessed him bowling with great effort. All of a sudden, he is not on this test squad. That is, therefore, a little unexpected. There are rumors that the way Akash Deep bowled in the nets won the team management over. For India A., he has performed well. So glad for him, even if Avesh did nothing improper.”

“Giving up on someone without giving them a chance might not be the best course of action,” says Aakash Chopra

Chopra underscored his discontentment with the process of making decisions. Eliminating a player before giving them an opportunity to demonstrate their value compromises the fairness of the selection process. “When you reject someone who hasn’t done anything wrong, you’re leaving them with a bad taste in their mouth because you didn’t give them a chance. It might not be the best decision to dump someone without giving them an opportunity,” said Aakash Chopra.

Further complicating the chemistry within the squad, Chopra conjectured about a possible rotation plan, including Jasprit Bumrah.

“There’s Jagjit Bumrah. I think he’ll definitely play in the third game. He might play in Dharamsala for the fifth game and skip the fourth in Ranchi. Many things will depend on the outcome. You will want Jasprit Bumrah to play the Ranchi match as well if the Rajkot match goes wrong, the former Indian opener said.

With a 1-1 tie in the series, the third game is scheduled to take place in Rajkot on February 15th. India’s playing XI selection for the upcoming Test would be difficult because of the absence of some key players and injury concerns for others.
