After missing the first ODI due to illness, Australia was able to call up the seasoned trio of Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc, and Glenn Maxwell for the second match at Headingley.
On a foggy morning, England chose to bowl first, and Olly Stone has come in to replace the rested Jofra Archer. It was always anticipated that Archer would be handled with extreme caution during this season.
England captain Harry Brook stated, “Headingley usually has a bit in it at the start, especially with overcast conditions.”
Three Australia players are absent from the Trent Bridge XI Cameron Green, Sean Abbott, and the injured Ben Dwarshuis.
On his ODI debut, Dwarshuis could only muster four overs before getting hurt throwing in the outfield by a pectoral muscle strain.
With a quad injury sustained during the T20I series, Josh Inglis is still out of commission. In this match, Mitchell Marsh moved up to No. 3 and Matthew Short was scheduled to start at the top.

In the first game, Australia dominated as their array of spinners caused England to collapse from 213 for 2 until Travis Head struck a stunning 154 not out.
