Australian spinners will be vulnerable to their strategy: Pat Cummins Australia’s skipper, Pat Cummins, believes that his team has a strategy for dealing with Indian bowlers in their opening encounter of the 2017 ICC Cricket World Cup. At Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium on October 8, the five-time champions will face India.
Cummins noted that the Australian have previously faced Indian spinners and performed admirably.
He added that the team’s victory in the third One Day International against India last month served as a significant boost going into the main competition.
“It (preparation) begins with practice in the days leading up to the game. The Australian players spin a lot. Our batting order had played frequently and successfully in India, so they are familiar with the majority of the (Indian) bowlers and have a strategy in place. We have a lot of faith. In the third ODI (in Rajkot), which was maybe a little bit closer to our strongest XI, we enjoyed a good victory. We’ve played a lot of ODIs in India, and we’ve had quite decent results,” Cummins was quoted as saying by The Week.
