The Indian team is good enough to win an ICC prize, so Australia needs to be very careful: Ravi Shastri
Ravi Shastri, who used to be India’s head coach, thinks that the present Indian team has what it takes to beat Australia in the World Test Championship final and win India’s first ICC trophy in almost ten years. He also agreed that Rohit Sharma’s team has had trouble playing on pitches with a lot of movement. However, he pointed out that since it’s a one-off test, the team won’t hold back and will go after the Aussies at the Oval.

The 61-year-old also pointed out that, even though many past cricketers and experts say Australia is the favorite, one bad day on the field could put them in a bad position before the final match on June 7.

“You have to compete. Sometimes, you also need a little luck to go your way. I won’t say that we didn’t play well. We have played cricket very well. They haven’t had much luck with the green. I always say that this team is good enough to win an ICC prize. I used to say the same thing when I was there. Especially in the last three or four years, I thought the team was good enough to win an ICC title. The Hindustan Times said that Shastri said, “Those players are still there.”

“Everyone says that Australia is the clear favorite because we are playing in England. But it’s a one-time test, and if you have a bad day, your chances are gone. Australia should also be very careful,” he said.

Shastri gives India’s wicketkeeper situation some light.
The team that won the World Cup in 1983 thinks that the Indian team will decide how they will play in the WTC final on the night before the game. Shastri said that Ishan Kishan is likely to play if India ends up using four seam bowlers. If not, KS Bharat should get the nod.

“I have a feeling that India might just play KS Bharat or two spinners, based on who is playing. But if there are four fast bowlers and one spinner, it might go the other way, toward Ishan Kishan. Jadeja will take six wickets, Mohammed Shami seven, Mohammed Siraj eight, and Shardul Thakur nine. Ravichandran Ashwin will be at number 11, and Umesh Yadav will be at number 12. This is what Ravi Shastri said on Star Sports.
