Australia’s hitters can be bothered by India’s bowling attack in England, but I’m a little worried about the batting: Sanjay Manjrekar

Sanjay Manjrekar, a former India bowler, is worried about the Indian team’s batting before the 2023 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at The Oval in London on June 7. This will be India’s second straight WTC final. In 2021, they lost to New Zealand’s Black Caps in the last one.

Manjrekar said that India’s one-off Test team had good bowlers but that the batting would be a big problem. The former cricket player, who is now a commentator, said that the Indian bowlers would be able to compete with the Australian batters in the final match.

“When I look at this team, I can tell they are good bowlers. India’s only problem will be how they play. I think this bowling attack can make it hard for Australia’s players to score runs in England. Manjrekar said on the Star Sports show “Game Plan” that he was a little worried about the hitting.

While talking about how the game is played in England, the 57-year-old said that Rohit Sharma, the captain, and Cheteshwar Pujara are the most likely batsmen in the team to do well. He also said that, besides them, the form of the other Indian hitters is uncertain.

“If you look at the top six players and how they are playing right now, and then think that they are playing in England, Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara are once again reliable players. Aside from these two, the shape of the others leaves a little bit to be desired,” he added.

Have a lot of confidence in Indian bowling. Manjrekar
Manjrekar went on to say that India’s hitting could help them make a comeback in the main event, saying that comebacks can happen in Test matches. The 57-year-old added that Australia is the stronger team, but he has confidence in the quality of Indian bowling.

“India might be able to get back into the game by bowling. You said that since there is only one Test match, the chances of making a comeback are low. However, test-match cricket is set up so that if you don’t play well in the first two days but do better later, you can make a recovery.

“Australia starts off as the stronger team, but I have a lot of faith in Indian bowling, and I think they could upset the apple cart,” the former cricketer said.
