fourth Twenty20

Before India’s fourth Twenty20 International match against Australia, there is reportedly a serious problem with the stadium in Raipur, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium’s energy supply. In order to ensure smooth and continuous operations, the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Association must promptly address the various problems posed by the power outage. As things are, the authority hasn’t done much to try to improve the situation since the government disrupted the electricity connection five years ago.

There is currently an INR 3.16 crore unpaid bill for the stadium, and unless the authority pays it, there is little likelihood that the government will try to bring the issue under control. According to NDTV, there might be areas without power on December 1st, in which case a generator would be required to run the floodlights.

According to the news, the Secretary Cricket Association has submitted an application to raise the stadium’s temporary connection’s capacity from 200 KV to 1000 KV. The game is set to take place in a few hours, so it could be troublesome that work on the same has not yet started.

The media coordinator for the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh Tarunesh Singh Parihar stated, “As far as the stadium lights are concerned, I don’t know how much bill is outstanding but a temporary connection has been taken in the name of CSCS.”

For the fourth Twenty20, Shreyas Iyer joins the Indian camp.

Before the fourth T20I, Shreyas Iyer, who was instrumental for India in the just finished ODI World Cup, has joined the national team. He notably participated in his final Twenty20 International match in November 2022 before missing the IPL 2023 due to a back ailment.

Given how packed the middle order now appears, it is doubtful if the cricketer will immediately waltz into the playing XI. Iyer, however, is probably going to take Tilak Varma’s or Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s place in the starting XI considering that he has been named vice-captain for the series.
