AUS vs IND 2024: Rain likely to spoil Gabba Test

The third Test match between Australia and India will begin on December 14 at Gabba. With the series tied at one, the victor of this match can gain a significant advantage before the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne. Notably, both teams are vying for a spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, and a defeat could result in their elimination from the competition.

Meanwhile, rain is predicted to impact the Gabba Test during its five days.

It may be a start-stop match, according to reports, and both clubs will probably think about the circumstances before selecting their starting lineup. Although there won’t be any severe rain or thunderstorms that could spoil the day, it will be overcast and the pace unit will benefit greatly from the conditions.

For the third Test, the pitch curators are also getting a green deck ready. They said it would have a good deal of “pace and carry” and be “fresh.” The pitch is still new because the Australian summer has just begun and only a few Shield and Women’s Big Bash League games have been played there.

Australia will begin as the favourites on their home pitch, particularly after winning the second Test at Adelaide by ten wickets. But since January 2021, the Pat Cummins-led team has failed to defeat India in a red-ball Test match played at home. They lost two of their three games, including the well-known one at Gabba nearly three years ago.

While Josh Hazlewood is nearing the end of his recuperation, the team management has not yet determined when he will be available. Scott Boland will remain in the starting lineup in case he is unable to play. India, however, is able to alter their team just one time. To bolster the batting lineup, Ravindra Jadeja is the front-runner to succeed Ravichandran Ashwin. On the morning of the Test match, though, India might wind up taking a call, much like Australia.
