Australie An Indian woman faced off against On August 7, at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field, a woman participated in the first T20 match. After winning the toss, India decided to bowl first. Tahlia Wilson and Katie Mack got off to a poor start, but they were able to maintain a run rate above six per over. In addition to putting up a 74-run partnership for the first wicket with Katie, who contributed a supporting innings of 39 off 31, Tahlia produced a fantastic performance of 50 off 34.

Australia was 91 for three in 12 overs when India quickly took three wickets to tie the score. After failing to form partnerships between players, the hosts collapsed even more, finishing at 116 for 5 in 14.5 overs. After a 47-run partnership for the sixth wicket between Nicole Fartum and Maddy Darke saved them, the squad amassed a respectable 163 for 5 after 20 overs. Saika Ishaque shone for India, taking three wickets, while Sayali Satghare contributed two wickets.

With 27 runs on the board in the fourth over of the chase, India lost Shwetha Sehrawat and Uma Chetry, putting them at 36 for 2. Before Tanuja Kanwar walked back having scored 22 runs, Priya Punia and Kanwar forged a crucial 64-run partnership for the third wicket. After two unfortunate run-outs involving Kiran Navgire and Sajeevan Sajana, India needed to score 44 runs in 14 balls.

Australia overtook India thanks to strategic run-outs.

Punia made a tough 76 off 59 balls, but three balls later, she stumbled back to the pavilion after miscommunicating with Bist Raghvi, causing her to fall short of the crease.
