Four players—Amit Sinha, Ishan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi, and Abhishek Thakuri—were suspended by the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) on Friday for allegedly engaging in corrupt activities during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.
The four players have represented Assam at different points in time, and the ACA has also filed a formal complaint against them with the state police’s crime section.
They are accused of trying to incite and influence some of the Assamese players who competed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
“The BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ASCU) carried out an investigation following the revelation of the accusations. Criminal proceedings have also been started by the ACA. “On the surface, they seem to have engaged in grave misconduct that compromises the sport’s integrity,” stated ACA secretary Sanatan Das.
From November 26 to December 8, Assam played in the SMAT league in Lucknow; the team did not advance to the current Super League level.

During suspension, it is also forbidden to engage in any cricket-related activities, such as officiating as a coach, umpire, or match referee.
According to Das, all district associations have been instructed to make sure that the order is strictly followed and to notify the clubs and academies that fall under their purview of the ACA’s ruling.
