"We will not take it as a big match because all the teams are good in front of you, so all the matches will be the same," Waseem added.

Asia Cup 2025: Waseem ahead of India

On Wednesday, September 10 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the hosts UAE will play the reigning champions India to kick off their Asia Cup 2025 campaign.

UAE captain Muhammad Waseem expressed confidence in his team ahead of the much anticipated match, saying that the objective will be to carry out their plans.

According to the aggressive right-handed batter, the UAE does not view the match against India as a major one. He believes that every squad competing in the competition is formidable.

Since every team performs well in front of you, we won’t consider it a huge match; instead, each match will be the same. Despite the heat, we are working hard and sticking to our plan. We shall carry out everything we have learnt and everything we have to do that day. According to India Today, Waseem stated, “The rest, the outcome is up to the game.”

We refuse to yield to their power: Waseem

Waseem stated that the hitters will treat him with the respect he deserves, but he did not specify who they were contemplating as India’s wicket-taking bowler. They will try to assault the other team’s other bowlers. Waseem is also relying on their understanding of the UAE’s circumstances.

“No, we don’t have any specific plans for any one player. For the entire squad, we have a plan for 6-7 batters. We refuse to yield to their power. We have such a plan and will play cautiously with their wicket-taker bowler, anyone we may charge. The opening batter clarified that the spinners’ function could expand if the unit was higher.

Here, we play cricket a lot. There is also a lot of cricket played here between India and Pakistan. But we call it home. Therefore, we will make every effort to capitalise on it and play quality cricket,” he said.
