Asia Cup 2025 schedule to be released soon

The Asia Cup, a competition plagued by controversy, appears to be on track after all bottlenecks were removed. Cricbuzz expects the schedule to be published within 24–48 hours, possibly Saturday (July 26).

After the recent Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dhaka, which was marred by geopolitical tensions between India’s western and eastern neighbours, Pakistan and Bangladesh, the announcement was inevitable.

The whole schedule and program may be released partially on Saturday and the remainder on Monday, or all at once during the weekend. This page indicated that the competition will be held September 10–28, however the dates may change. UAE host cities Dubai and Abu Dhabi are expected.

The continental tournament host, the BCCI, is finalising the schedule. A few tweaks may occur, but the window will remain in the second and third weeks of September.

After the Dhaka meeting on Thursday, July 24, the BCCI took over. Before finalising the event, the Indian board alerted ACC members of a few commercial partner issues. BCCI should announce via the proper ACC channel.

This website reports eight teams—India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, UAE, and Oman—with 19 games and a final on the last Sunday of September. India and Pakistan are projected to be in the same group, therefore they may play three times: in the league, in the Super 4 round, and possibly in the final. The competition will be in Twenty20 format, ahead of next year’s Twenty20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
