With Yasim Murtaza leading a 20-man squad, Hong Kong has become the third team to reveal its roster in advance of the 2025 Asia Cup. After finishing last in 2022, the team will be participating with great expectations to pull off a few upsets and advance to the competition’s Super Fours stage.
In addition to having some excellent players like Nasrulla Khan, Kinchit Shah, and Ehsan Khan, the team also features seasoned stars like Babar Hayat, Anshuman Rath, and Mohammad Aizaz Khan. Hong Kong’s campaign will begin on September 9 at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi with a match against Afghanistan in the tournament’s main event, the T20 competition.
In addition to the Afghans, Hong Kong’s final group stage matches will pit them against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, the other two teams in Group B. Litton Das will lead the Bangla Tigers, the only other team in the group to have announced their roster for the prestigious T20 tournament; Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the team’s standout all-rounder, was forced to skip out.
On September 11, Hong Kong will take on Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi. On September 15, the team will fly to Dubai to play Sri Lanka in their last group stage encounter.
