Bangladesh get reasonable results Despite a setback early on
Shakib Al Hasan was given the opportunity to bat first, but he and his team got off to a rough start when they lost Litton Das in the third over alone. Bangladesh’s situation deteriorated as they were left in disarray at 59/4 after 14 overs. But captain Shakib and Towhid Hridoy took matters into their own hands, putting up a 101-run stand to lead Bangladesh out of trouble.
Shakib added 51 runs while Towhid Hridoy added 80 runs in just 85 balls. Tanzim, Nasum Ahmed, and Mahedi Hasan all made significant cameos lower in the order, allowing the Bangla Tigers to amass significant runs and ultimately set the opposition a doable target of 266 runs.
