Arshdeep’s Horror Over Sparks Gambhir’s Anger

Arshdeep Singh totally lost control of his line during the second Twenty20 International between India and South Africa on Thursday, December 11 in Mullanpur, which infuriated India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir. After Quinton de Kock hit the opening ball of the eleventh over for a six, the left-arm bowler seemed shaken and his attempt to make amends ended in a flurry of wides.

He attempted to limit the score by bowling wide outside off, but he kept making mistakes, managing a dot ball after two wides. Even more chaos ensued as he went on to bowl four straight wides, which infuriated Gambhir in the bench. Senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah and captain Suryakumar Yadav were also observed approaching the bowler to offer guidance and comfort.

Even before Arshdeep finished the over, Gambhir’s expressive facial reactions swiftly gained widespread attention on social media. Arshdeep ended with 13 deliveries, the most an Indian bowler has ever bowled in a T20I over. Additionally, he made history by being the first bowler from a full-member country to give up seven wides in a single over. Naveen-ul-Haq, who bowled six wides in an over last year, held the previous record.

No matter the situation, abusing a youngster is never justified. Shame on Gautam Gambhir for his actions towards Arshdeep Singh 😔#INDvsSA #ArshdeepSingh

For Arshdeep, it was a rare day off from the pitch.

Even the audience became agitated as they waited for the over to conclude, and he lost his cool. Shivam Dube eventually replaced him when the Indian captain pulled him off the attack.

India is presently leading the five-match Twenty20 International series 1-0 after winning the first match in Cuttack by 101 runs with to Hardik Pandya’s ferocious knock and all-around bowling performance. Following Quinton de Kock’s magnificent 90 off 46 balls, which featured five fours and seven sixes, South Africa will try to recover.

Looking back on the entire tour, South Africa dominated the two-match Test series, defeating India 2-0 and winning the series for the first time in 25 years. Virat Kohli’s outstanding form, which included two hundreds and a half-centuries in the three matches, helped India win the ODIs 2-1. In an effort to win the shorter-format championship, both teams will now try to end the T20I series strong.
