'Helped me enormously' - Arshdeep Singh highlights Jasprit Bumrah's role in behind success

In the game’s shortest format, Arshdeep Singh has been one of India’s greatest assets. The young player became India’s second-leading wicket-taker in T20 internationals, surpassing both Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the third Twenty20 International match against South Africa at Centurion. In the format, he has taken 92 wickets, with Yuzvendra Chahal leading him with 96.

Prior to the third Twenty20 International, the cricketer from Madhya Pradesh talked candidly about his collaboration with Bumrah. In the 2024 T20 World Cup, the pair excelled for the national side, helping the Men in Blue win their first ICC championship in more than ten years.

Arshdeep Singh, who has been reliable in the format, commended Bumrah for mentoring him and applying pressure from the other end to aid in his wicket-taking.

He deserves all the credit. Most importantly, it matters how effectively I can adjust to the circumstances and fit in. In order to outsmart the batters and turn the tide of the match back in our favour, I try to attack them early. Arshdeep told the announcers as much.

Additionally, the 25-year-old offered his success mantra. Sharing a changing room with some of the game’s legends has taught the pacer more about mental and physical preparation, and he strives to enjoy himself both on and off the pitch.

My goal is to live in the moment and have fun both on and off the pitch. That has been my motto. I feel like I’ve improved my game since I’ve been playing with some of

the game’s legends and learning from them about both mental and physical preparation. In order to succeed for the squad, I’m attempting to learn from whatever I can,” Arshdeep stated.
