Arshad Nadeem, the gold medallist from Paris Olympics 2024, was welcomed to the Pakistan dressing room by Test coach Jason Gillespie of Pakistan. After meeting the first Pakistani athlete to win an Olympic gold medal, the former Australian pacer believes that the cricket players will be greatly inspired.
In the men’s javelin throw final of the Paris Games, Nadeem wrote history by shattering the Olympic record. He won the Olympic gold medal thanks in large part to his incredible 92.97-meter throw. Prior to the final, Pakistani players wished him luck and expressed their congratulations for his incredible accomplishment.
“We would be delighted to welcome Arshad Nadeem to the changing area as well. During the Olympics, I witnessed the Shaheens all supporting him. It would be a tremendous boost to have him come and celebrate his gold medal with the team, especially while the Olympic spirit is still strong. We cordially invite him to come see us in the dressing room; it was a beautiful moment,” Gillespie stated on the PCB Podcast.
After his incredible achievement in Paris, Nadeem has grown to be a national hero. Hundreds of supporters erupted in jubilant applause as he returned to Pakistan, expressing their happiness. Nadeem, originally from Mian Channu, went on to become a well-known figure in Paris on the international scene. Shan Masood, the captain of Pakistan’s Test team, was questioned if Nadeem’s valiant performance in Paris will add to the cricketers’ workload rather than inspire them.
