Yograj Singh, the father of Yuvraj Singh and a former Indian cricket player, has stated that Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Sachin Tendulkar, has a genuine possibility of becoming the “next Chris Gayle” if he receives training from the India mainstay middle-order batsman.
Arjun has yet to play for the joint-most successful team since being re-acquired by the Mumbai Indians prior to the current Indian Premier League season. After switching to play domestic cricket for Goa, Arjun trained under Yograj’s tutelage.

Arjun Tendulkar has yet to play for the joint-most successful team since being re-acquired by the Mumbai Indians prior to the current Indian Premier League season. After switching to play domestic cricket for Goa, Arjun trained under Yograj’s tutelage.
“I advised Arjun to concentrate more on his batting and less on his bowling. However, I’m willing to wager that Yuvraj, who is very close to Sachin, will become the next Chris Gayle if he takes Sachin’s son under his wing for three months. It frequently occurs that a fast bowler who sustains a stress fracture is unable to bowl as well. In an interview with CricketNext, Yograj stated, “I believe that Arjun should be turned over to Yuvraj for the time being.”
Arjun Tendulkar last competed for Goa in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2024–2025.
The former India pacer related an intriguing story about Abhishek Sharma, who was categorised as a bowler by the Punjab Cricket Association during the SRH opener’s early professional cricket career.
“We had requested the coaches and PCA for a list of Abhishek Sharma’s performances. Are you aware of their words? He’s a bowler, sir. He bowls. “You just look at his performance records,” Yuvi remarked. Therefore, Abhishek already had 24 hundreds when we looked at the record. “Why are you providing incorrect information?” Yuvi asked. Why? 24 centuries have been made by this individual. News18 Punjab cited Yograj as adding, “This was six or seven years ago.”
“And Yuvi remarked, ‘Papa, look at this player,’ when he sent me the album. “Look,” I said, “this is all about information sharing.” This is the issue; jealousy makes some people want to end the player’s career rather than advancing their own,” he continued.
MI was able to obtain Arjun Tendulkar services in 2021. But he was unable to participate in the event due to an injury. In the 2023 season, he made his IPL debut. He has participated in five IPL games thus far.
