Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of Team India, recently gained attention after it was disclosed that he had received two threatening emails. Initially, it was thought to be the work of a terrorist organisation such as ISIS. In a fairly startling development, nevertheless, a 21-year-old Gujarati engineering student has been apprehended. In the death threat case, Jigneshsinh Parmar was allegedly recognised by the authorities and subsequently questioned.
Notably, a group of Central District Police officers picked up Parmar on Friday. Following the revelation of Parmar’s behaviour, his family asserted that he was experiencing mental health problems. The Delhi Police also disclosed that the mail came from a fairly dubious location. Furthermore, because the communication was issued on the same day as the Pahalgam atrocity in Jammu and Kashmir, its timing was also questioned.
In this serious catastrophe, almost 26 people lost their lives. The emails in question were sent on April 22. There were only three words in both emails: “I kill you.” M Harsha Vardhan, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), came forth with some important updates in this respect.
“Parmar studies engineering. According to his relatives, he has mental health problems. Additional research is underway. We have been made aware of a purported threat email that was sent to an email address linked to Gautam Gambhir. News18 cited Vardhan as adding, “The matter is being investigated.”
“We do not comment on specific security arrangements, and Gautam Gambhir is already a Delhi Police protectee,” he continued.
Concerning the formal complaint, it was disclosed that the Rajinder Nagar Police Station had properly received the complaint about the death threat made against the former BJP MP. For those who don’t know, the Indian head coach has already received death threats. His security was bolstered following a similar attack in 2022.
Greetings, Sir Namaskar. Please find below the “Threat Mails” that were received on the email address of Mr. Gautam Gambhir (ex-MP), the head coach of the Indian cricket team, as we discussed. Please file the appropriate FIR and make sure the family is safe and secure,” the complaint said.
