‘Bohot mushkil hai’- Amit Mishra reflects on Sanju Samson’s chances of making the Indian squad for the upcoming World Cup

"Given that Samson is 34 years old and there are so many young players, I don't think he will play in the next World Cup," Mishra stated.

‘Bohot mushkil hai’- Amit Mishra reflects on Sanju Samson's chances of making the Indian squad for the upcoming World Cup

The Indian squad is without a doubt incredibly talented. While many players have had a big impact on Indian cricket throughout the years, there have also been a number of players who, despite their potential, were not given enough chances to show themselves.

Sanju Samson is among the best instances of a player like this. Sanju Samson, 29, has only made 28 appearances in T20 Internationals for India, scoring 444 runs at an average of 21.14 runs.

Although he was included in the Indian T20 World Cup roster, he did not participate in any matches for the team as Rishabh Pant was India’s primary wicketkeeper for the duration of the competition. Amit Mishra, a former cricketer for India, recently spoke out about how unlikely it is for Samson to return to the team at this point.

In an interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Amit Mishra stated, “I don’t think that Samson will play in the next World Cup because he is now 34 years old, there are many young players, and VIrat Kohli brought forth this concept that young players perform more in T20 cricket.”

He can play in the upcoming World Cup, but selection will depend heavily on how well he performs. Either way, he’s on the team today, so he should hold onto that spot through the next World Cup; if not, things get really tough,” he continued.

In T20s, experience counts: Amit Mishra

Amit Mishra also discussed how there are other players supporting Samson’s perspective. He mentioned a number of people who are eligible for selection, including Ishan Kishan, Dhruv Jurel, KL Rahul, and many others.

“Behind you are many others, including Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Ishan Kishan. Young players are the focus of T20 cricket, but elders win games because experience counts in the shortest format, according to Mishra.
