Last week at the Nassau Cricket Stadium in New York, India and Pakistan played in a low-scoring thriller for the T20 World Cup 2024. India’s bowling coach, Paras Mhambrey, praised his bowlers for their outstanding performance against the Men in Green and for aiding the side to contain their lowest target in the game’s shortest format.
One of India’s best bowling performances as head coach Rahul Dravid’s team defeated Pakistan by six runs, despite setting a goal of just 120 runs. The Test match performance earlier this year against South Africa will also stick in the memories of Indian supporters as a noteworthy performance.
According to Paras Mhambrey , the Pakistan game was the bowling department’s best performance because of the game’s setting, the calibre of the opponents, and the conditions that changed.
There were, in fact, a few of them. My format of thought was different. The Test victory in South Africa, as well as the final game we played there, impressed me greatly. However, if you consider the game’s background, the tournament, the pressure we faced, and how we responded to it, you can see that this performance—which Cricbuzz classified as outstanding—was unquestionably up there.
With three wickets at a cost of just 14 runs in four overs, Jasprit Bumrah was the most effective bowler. Hardik Pandya, meanwhile, claimed a few wickets while bowling brilliantly as well. Additionally contributing with a wicket apiece were Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel.

At one point, Pakistan was dominating; with eight wickets in hand, they needed just 48 runs to win the final eight overs. But the first-ever champions were able to record a historic victory thanks to a determined effort from the Indian pacers towards the conclusion of the innings.
“Obviously, the game against Pakistan is always going to be high intensity; regardless of what you say, it’s never going to be a normal game in a game like this, especially when you’re under so much pressure to play a high-intensity game.” When you bat, you anticipate being in a position where we have a good chance of scoring additional runs. You know you’re defending low scores, though, particularly when that doesn’t happen. Going out there and bowling at your best is the only way out. It was amazing, in my opinion, to be able to protect that total in that situation against a wicket that undoubtedly improved,” Mhambrey remarked.
With a win over the USA on Wednesday, June 12, India would guarantee their spot in the next round of the ongoing major event, putting them in the running to compete in the T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight stage.
