Alyssa Healy appointment as the national team’s full-time skipper was long anticipated, according to Cricket Australia. Meg Lanning‘s resignation made Healy’s selection inevitable, given the stumper-batter had led the side for lengthy periods of time several times, most notably during the Women’s Ashes earlier in the year. On the other side, Tahlia McGrath has been selected to be the team’s vice captain.
Alyssa Healy acknowledged her colleagues’ support thus far and thanked CA for entrusting her with the job.
The 33-year-old continued, saying that her objective is to continue being a reliable player for the Indian national team and make an impact. She said that she was excited to collaborate with many gifted people and aspiring cricket players.

The players’ encouragement to be true to themselves and guide the group as I usually do from inside has been greatly appreciated over the past three months. My strategy will not change from how it has worked in the past, but I will add my own flair to the position and make sure I’m doing all in my power to help this squad continue its winning streak.

Healy’s rule will begin with the team’s forthcoming tour to India, where they will play a three-match ODI and T20I series as well as a Test in Wankhede Stadium. Notably, an injury kept her out of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) for the whole season. However, she is back to full strength and has declared herself a near-certain starter for the remaining games. However, for the next Women’s Premier League (WPL), the Gujarat Giants have decided to keep her on team.
