Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah has returned with a bang to the international scene after missing 11 months of play with a back ailment sustained in September 2022. With 20 wickets from 11 innings at an average of 18.65 and an economy of 4.06, Jasprit Bumrah concluded as the fourth-highest wicket-taker of the ODI World Cup 2023, demonstrating his return to form.
The 30-year-old also finished with 12 wickets from three innings to top all wicket-takers in the just-ended two-match Test series against South Africa. As he accelerates in the final ten meters of his dash, the renowned South African fast bowler Allan Donald has compared the Indian speedster’s distinctive bowling motion to a “golf swing.”

Notably, Pandya hasn’t played since sustaining an ankle injury in Pune during the ODI World Cup 2023 matchup with Bangladesh. While he recovers to prepare for the impending T20 World Cup in 2024, it is uncertain when he will be on the cricket field again. The 30-year-old underwent surgery in 2020 to treat a recurrent back ailment, so this is not the first time he has had a serious injury.
