Fast bowler Yash Dayal has been given temporary protection from arrest by the Allahabad High Court in a sexual harassment complaint brought by a lady he allegedly dated for five years. A division bench made up of Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar issued the order, which gives the cricket player temporary reprieve until the next hearing or until the police report is received.
An FIR filed at the Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad on July 6 served as the foundation for the investigation. Yash Dayal is accused of sexual exploitation through cheating in the complaint, which was submitted in accordance with Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The complainant, a Ghaziabad lady, claims that Yash Dayal engaged in a protracted relationship with her under false pretences of marriage. She claimed that over the course of five years, he emotionally, physically, and financially abused her after introducing her to his family as a possible bride.
The victim, who also claimed to have experienced physical and psychological abuse, claimed to have been forced to rely on Yash Dayal for financial support before learning about his alleged extramarital affairs. She emphasised that obtaining her trust and agreement for sexual intercourse was accomplished by promising marriage. The High Court expressed great concerns about the statements regarding the longevity of the relationship during the hearing on Tuesday.
For one day, two days, or three days, you could have been duped, but for five years? According to Cricket Times, the court stated, “You are entering into a relationship for five years, and one can’t be fooled for five years.”

The Court underlined that further investigation was necessary and that it would not be appropriate to take any immediate action against the accused at this time. Consequently, the court sent summons to the complainant, the Ghaziabad police, and the Uttar Pradesh government, instructing them to provide their answers.
Following his recent selection to the Indian national team, the pacer has refuted the accusations, claiming that the FIR was lodged with malicious purpose. He disclosed that the complainant didn’t speak out for years and only filed a lawsuit after he became very well-liked.
Yash Dayal said in his defence that he had provided the woman with financial support throughout their relationship and that there had never been any false promises of marriage. Citing the loss of his laptop and iPhone, he also filed a counter-complaint against the woman, accusing her of financial fraud and theft.
